Test Administration Process Next Steps

Select your current phase of the test administration process to see resources related to that phase.

 

Step 1: Orientation – Learn about test formats and policies, request a change of contact or organization information, and select test staff and set up accounts.

Step 2: Configuration – Order paper test materials and learn about online testing readiness.

Step 3: Accommodation – Learn about accessibility supports and how to assign accommodations. 

Step 4: Preparation – Prepare your facility and staff for test day. Train your staff. Provide examinees with test preparation information.

Step 5: Administration - Administer the test

Step 6: Transportation – Complete irregularity form if needed. Enter a Scoring Order for paper materials being returned. Return paper test materials. Use Local Scan (if applicable) to scan answer documents

Step 7: Interpretation - Access and understand score reports; share reporting information with examinees.

 

Important Dates

Please check your saved addresses in your shipping carrier's system for ACT return labels and make any appropriate updates or you may experience delays in processing. Use only the following addresses to return materials for ACT WorkKeys: 

Scorable test materials should be returned to: ACT WorkKeys Processing Pearson 9200 Earhart Ln Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 

Nonscorable materials should be returned to: ACT WorkKeys ACT Return Processing Center 821 Memorial Ave. Camden, NJ 08103 

No materials should be returned to an ACT address in Iowa City, Iowa.

Tip: Review the “Test Materials” section of the manual before receiving your shipment. Refer to the “Receiving Materials before
Testing” section while unpacking your test materials.

Tip: Remember to hold a training session with all testing staff (new and old) before test day.

Tip: Test booklets contain an expiration date. Make sure examinees are using current test booklets and answer documents are returned promptly for scoring.

Tip: Make sure examinees properly grid the form code into the Test Form block on their answer documents.

Tip: If you are testing an examinee authorized for English learner supports, have the ACT-Authorized Bilingual Word to Word Dictionaries list handy to verify at check-in that the dictionary can be used for testing.

Using Local Scan

ACT Local Scan software allows ACT WorkKeys site administrators to load a stack of examinee answer documents into the hopper of a compatible scanner, scan them, and a short time later, generate examinee score reports from the Online Reports Portal.

Requirements:

 You can add Local Scan by completing the Change of Contact or Organizational Information form and selecting the Add or Remove Products/Assessments.

    Tip: Reports are available in the Online Reports Portal 24 hours after online testing takes place. For paper testing, reports are available 10 days after answer document receipt and processing. Users must have the Portal Manager role to use the Reports Portal.
